Support Assistant at Skymningsvägen Group Home

Do you want to make a difference in the daily lives of people with disabilities? We are looking for someone who is passionate about focusing on individual needs, works systematically, and has the patience to provide valuable support. As a support assistant with us, you will play an important role in creating conditions for independence and quality of life.

Your Mission

Skymningsvägen group home, which is a residence according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons), is perfectly located for those seeking a close connection to nature. With lush forest areas within reach and water characterizing the local area, a peaceful atmosphere is created for our clients to thrive and feel at home. At Skymningsvägen group home, six adult clients live who enjoy being active, participating in fun activities, and socializing together.

As a support assistant, you will start from the client's individual needs and wishes and provide support in daily life based on a pedagogical approach. Together with your colleagues, you will work to make the client's day meaningful and enriching. You will provide support in areas such as personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, community contacts, and communication. An important part of your work is to stimulate and motivate the client to develop their abilities and create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Documentation and planning based on implementation plans are also part of your tasks.

Your Experience

To be considered for the position, you must have:

  • Completed education in health and care/child and leisure with courses in disability/special education or other education deemed equivalent according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations
  • Ability to handle clients with high care needs
  • Experience with autism and cognitive disabilities among adults
  • Experience with low-arousal approaches
  • Computer and documentation skills as well as experience with implementation plans
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have education and/or experience in IBIC, AAC, and clarifying pedagogy.

We are looking for someone who is communicative and enjoys collaborating with colleagues, but also feels secure in working independently and making decisions. You like to develop working methods and strategies to create a meaningful daily life for our clients.

About the Employment

  • Permanent employment (6 months probationary period)
  • Working hours vary between days, evenings, and weekends
